To remove the stopper from a bathroom sink, locate the pivot rod under the sink connected to the stopper. Unscrew the pivot rod, then pull the stopper out of the drain. Clean the stopper and the drain area, and reassemble it once the cleaning is complete. If the stopper is stuck, try gently wiggling or using a lubricant.
